AWGCOR Series I: a real-time 3D car launch

A car launch site rendered live in 3D, where every scroll moves the camera, scans the car into a blueprint and pulls it apart.

The car assembled in the studio, lit and reflected in the mirror floor.
The same car in exploded view, its body lifted apart layer by layer.

The situation

A launch page for a single hero product that had to feel like an unveiling, not a brochure. A video would have been the easy answer, but a video cannot be stopped at any angle, turned by hand, or taken apart by the reader.

What we did

We built the whole page around one real-time WebGL scene. There is no video on it: the car, the studio lighting and the reflective floor are rendered live, and scroll position drives a choreographed camera through ten scenes — a reveal, a side-profile study, a low tracking shot at speed, a laser scan that turns the car into a glowing blueprint, and an exploded view that lifts it apart layer by layer before putting it back together.

The type is in 3D too. Headlines flip in letter by letter, text blocks rise out of depth as they arrive and fly past as they leave, and the glass panels tilt toward the cursor. A configurator lets the reader repaint the car and turn it by hand.

Real-time 3D can overwhelm a laptop’s integrated graphics, so the page benchmarks the device while it loads, picks one of five quality tiers, and steps down on its own if frames start to drop.

The base car body is a CC BY 4.0 model, credited on the page and re-trimmed with AWGCOR badging. The scene, lighting, choreography, effects and code are ours.
